Liposuction Remains Popular For Weightloss
May 16th, 2013
Whilst the cosmetic surgery industry has seen a massive growth in less invasive procedures for body contouring and skin tightening, liposuction remains a firm favourite for genuine and effective results.
Less invasive treatments, which usually involve a radiofrequency (RF) energy device to heat up and tighten tissue to boost blood flow and break down cellulite and fat. This can be effective for areas of the body that do not have too many fat cells and the treatments are better on thin people who are seeing the effects of ageing – such as sagging skin.
What RF treatments are less effective at is wholesale fat loss. That’s why liposuction was the seventh most popular cosmetic surgery treatment in the UK in 2012, according to the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. Liposuction is not a solution for obesity, but is excellent for removing small areas of fat that do not respond to a healthy diet and regular exercise.
Fat can be removed from the back, chest, stomach, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, underneath the chin and the neck with the aim of reshaping and slimming that specific area.
